Spring Baseball Opening Day is February 18th

Bring a Non-Perishable Food Item to 'Strike Out Hunger'

Updated Saturday February 25, 2017 by Stephen Marrero.

Hello Baseball Families-

It’s getting close…can you feel it?  Baseball is in the air.  The Pirates spring training is right around the corner and our Opening Day is even closer!

Today, game schedules have been released to coaches and in just a few moments they will be available on our league site through Sports Illustrated Play and on your SI Play Team App.  If you have not yet downloaded it, I highly recommend it.  Each coach may use it slightly different ways, but in the end, they are there to keep you updated.  If you already downloaded the old version in a prior season, I would recommend deleting it and reloading the new version.  Your login will be the same as it is on the league site.

With Opening Day next week (February 18th), I thought it would be a good time to share some information and updates:

  • Coaches will be notified as soon as uniforms are available for pick-up so they can get them to you!
  • Bring a non-perishable food items to Opening Day to help support our “Strike Out Hunger” campaign to support the Food Bank of Manatee!
  • Don’t miss our Opening Day ceremonies! We invite all teams out to participate in our Opening Day Ceremonies even if you do not have the early games.  A schedule of events will be posted soon. Several sponsors will be on site all day so bring the family and have a great day!
  • Say Cheese! Mark your calendar for March 11th, picture day!  Details will be available soon!
  • Discount Cards – You asked for it and it’s back! We will be selling the orange discount cards again this spring and will have prizes for the highest individual and team participation.  Details to come!
  • Don’t forget to order your tickets for the Marauders game on April 8th. The order form is available in the Document Center on the league site.  Orders are due March 25th.  Get your team together for a great night out at LECOM Park (formerly McKechnie Field)! The Marauders are the reigning Florida State League champs!
  • Like us on Facebook to stay up on our latest league events!

It’s almost time to play ball!

Best Regards,
